Ethiopia Djimmah – Special Natural

Ethiopia Djimmah – Special Natural is a characterful, classic Ethiopian single origin from the Djimmah region of western Ethiopia, in Oromia province. A heirloom lot of local indigenous arabica varieties, traditionally natural processed. The cherries are dried in the sun on African beds, which gives the coffee a full, naturally sweet and fruity character.

In the cup it shows a medium body, a cocoa and walnut base and a delicately earthy character, rounded out by red berries and a pleasant red-wine sweetness. The overall impression is full, warm and harmonious, showing the more characterful side of classic Djimmah coffees.

We recommend it to anyone looking for an easy-drinking, fuller-bodied Ethiopian coffee rather than a very light, floral specialty profile. As espresso the cocoa-walnut base and fruity sweetness come through beautifully, but it also gives a pleasant, characterful cup with other brewing methods.
